Another Downwrite tune for you to enjoy!!
Getting older is a funny thing. You are able to come to grips with a lot of shit a lot easier. This DW song came to me at a perfect time, so I was able to put myself in the shoes of this persons story quite easily. Its about the friends you made growing up. When you’re in high school the friends you make are one of the most important things that helps to shape your personality and your outlook on a lot of things. They are there through the toughest growing period I think a human has to go through. On the other side they are also there through some of the most carefree fun moments as well. As time moves on you think you will be friends for the rest of your life, and while sometimes that does happen, for many people I think it can tend to be difficult when a certain amount of space and distance is put between you and them. You begin to have responsibilities you never had, like the dreaded first of the month rent check, or when the time warner cable bill comes in and you realize they sneakily raised your bill by 20 dollars a month even though their shit never works right!! Anyways, this song is about how you will always have a fond place for those very important friends you made during your younger and more vulnerable years, and even though things are a bit different now; some have moved on in life, gotten married, maybe even have had kids of their own, you will always hold a special place for them in hopes that maybe one day they will return to your life. If not, the memories you made will carry on till your 6 feet under ground. My hope is that if you hear this song and get the message, you yourself will reach out to one of those friends that you haven’t spoken to in a while. Live your life, have fun, sing along to your favorite song, find someone to love, and above all just be happy!! Enjoy your weekend, your undying support keeps me going…

As most of you know, I have been doing Downwrite songs for people… Downwrite is a personal song writing experience where you give me your background and what you want your song to be about and I write it. I put a lot into this because I appreciate those who take the time and money to do this. I just felt like sharing one of them so you all know I am still working on music… I have over 20 songs written for a TFP album and I am really excited about it. To those of you who are still with me, I love you more than words could describe and I am putting these songs up for you because I know its been a while since the ep and though it might not be a full studio recording it’s something that hopefully you’ll dig. This one is called Worthy of Love, I had 14 days to write and record it myself. I’ll be posting more of these if you like them, and they aren’t judged harshly cause remember these are people who opened their heart to share their personal story with me.. If you want a personal song from me all you have to do is go to www.downwrite.com and click on my profile!
PS still working on the next POR b-sides and rarities ep.. keep an eye out for that
Today is a big day for me, I get to announce that I have been added to the awesome team of DownWrite writers. For those who don’t know, downwrite.com is a personalized song writing experience. You tell me your story, how you feel, or really anything that you want me to write about, and I put it in a song personalized just for you! Can’t wait to get started on some of these!
We are getting close to heading out on our first real tour as The Future Perfect, and I couldn’t be more excited. I hope that we will see old friends, meet new ones, and begin to carve our own path as TFP. It’s been a long journey since Valencia went on a hiatus. A lot has changed, but one thing has always remained constant; my love for this craft and this form of self expression. I wasn’t sure if I’d honestly ever be able to get back on tour again, but I have always been one to see one door closing as another one opening. So here we are, just a little more than a week away. I am writing this because I am asking you guys for that same undying support I knew you always gave when I was in Valencia. I have put everything I had into starting this project and releasing new music and it’s only the beginning. There are so many more songs on the way that blow the last EP out of the water, and I can’t wait to share them with you. I see this tour as the real beginning to another crazy journey, and I am ready for the ride.
See you on the road… (again)!!
We are excited to announce that on April 26th we will be sharing the stage with two of my all time favorite songwriters; Matt Pryor (The Get Up Kids) and James Dewees (The Get Up Kids, Reggie and the full effect)
